About the Washington Education Association Children's Fund
Teachers and other school employees dip into their pockets regularly to buy things for their students in need. The WEA Children's Fund is one place WEA members can turn to for help. The fund reimburses WEA members who buy shoes, clothes and basic school necessities for students.
The fund was established in 1990 with the goal of helping meet the modest and immediate needs of students encountered by WEA members in their daily workplaces. The intent is to ensure that the physical, social and emotional needs of students do not stand in the way of success within the school setting. Since 2001 it has served thousands of students across the state. In 2009, the fund helped more than nearly 1,300 students.
The WEA Children’s Fund relies on the generous support of the community to provide some of the most basic necessities for our students. The WEA Children’s Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on charitable donations. Every gift counts, no matter the size of the gift. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent
