About the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA)
The mission of the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA) is to increase awareness of ovarian cancer leading to earlier detection by educating women, their families, and the healthcare community about the risks, symptoms and treatments of ovarian cancer.
While many organizations focus on research for early detection, improved treatments and for a cure, GOCA reaches out into the cancer community today with their “Awareness.Knowledge.Action” campaign as well as the vital Community Outreach programs provided to newly diagnosed women and their families such as the “Bag of Hope”, the Media Library, and the “Survivors Teaching Students” program.
There has not been a significant breakthrough in the detection or treatment of ovarian cancer in more than a decade. Awareness remains the best weapon against this disease.
